Three reasons why you should offer metal payment cards to your customers
In today’s evolving world there are more banking options available to consumers than ever before. The number of banks, building societies and other financial institutions is only going to get bigger.
For more affluent customers there is a wealth of different banking options available and it’s crucial to stay at least one step ahead of your competitors. But how?
Metal payment cards are one way to help your bank or FinTech to stand out from the crowd. Here are three reasons why you should expand your financial card offering to include metal cards.
Stay ahead of the curve
Customers are likely to see metal payment cards as a status symbol due to the level of luxury and exclusivity. According to an article from Payment Cards & Mobile Magazine, based on independent research by Edgar, Dunn & Company durability and innovative design are the top two reasons why consumers are attracted to metal cards. Metal payment cards have grown in popularity and reduced in cost, achieving top-of-wallet status for a wider range of consumers. The sleek design and heavyweight feel are an indicator to customers that they’re getting a top-notch product, and a quality bank account – helping banks to stand out from the competition.
The durability of metal cards
One of the most obvious advantages of metal payment cards is that they are durable and hard wearing. From a sustainability perspective this is a great reason why you should offer metal cards to your premium account holders.
Retain customers and build brand loyalty
According to the research by Edgar, Dunn & Company, 51% of consumers surveyed indicated that they would choose to leave their current bank for a competitor that offered a metal payment card, assuming the payment card benefits and rewards were equal.
The article also reveals that the majority of consumers (58%) would feel more positive about their bank if they offered a metal card.
