We comply with the ISO 14001:2008 standard which covers atmosphere, water and land emissions, and we are proud to be a corporate sponsor of Essex Wildlife Trust.
Eco-friendly card materials
Thames Technology sources materials that support sustainability, offering innovative and eco-friendly card solutions without compromising on quality for a range industries including the financial and retail sectors.
We are proud to produce all our plastic cards using recycled PVC (rPVC) and our gift cards using Holmen Iggesund's Invercote Duo paperboard as standard.
In 2024, we became one of the first card manufacturers to offer Mastercard-approved pre-paid financial paperboard cards.
Reducing waste and energy consumption
We are committed to reducing our energy usage by incorporating the latest innovative technologies into our business.
Over 90% of our waste is recycled including precious metals, ferrous and non-ferrous; various plastics, paper, cardboard, florescent tubes, mercury and glass.
In addition, waste chemicals and organic solvents are used as fuel for cement kilns. Any remaining waste is used to produce pellets for power stations, no waste from our site is sent to land fill.
